Teeth Whitening

What is Teeth Whitening?

Whitening is a treatment option that helps to eliminate stains and deep discoloration from your teeth. Teeth can become discolored for a variety of reasons, and you might have already used whitening products from the store with little to no success. This is why we offer both in-office and take-home professional whitening. You’ll benefit from a smile that is multiple shades whiter and brighter once the whitening has been completed.

Why would Teeth Whitening be needed?

Your teeth can become stained for a variety of different reasons. You might be a smoker or chew smokeless tobacco. You might drink a lot of tea, coffee, cola or fruit juice that can stain your teeth significantly over time. You may even be taking medications that have an impact on the color of your smile. Regardless of what’s causing your teeth to become stained, whitening them can help to improve your self-esteem and confidence.

Who is a candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Your teeth should be otherwise healthy before undergoing whitening treatment. We will perform an examination to determine if whitening is right for you. Be aware that whitening will have little to no impact on restorations you currently have. This means that whitening will not lighten restorations like fillings, crowns, bridge work or veneers when used.

What happens during the Teeth Whitening process?

In-office whitening involves applying a whitening gel to the teeth. A bright light is then placed over these teeth. This helps to accelerate the results and brightens your smile within a matter of just about an hour. For take-home whitening, we’ll create custom-made trays for you using impressions of your teeth. We provide you with a patented whitening gel that is used inside of these trays. You’ll be instructed on how and when to wear your whitening trays in the comfort of your own home. Once treatment is finished, you can keep the trays for future use.
